I have worked in the humanitarian sector for over 17 years in a variety of different roles. Initially, I worked overseas in GOAL managing health and nutrition programmes. After joining Oxfam in ’96 my role changed to more technical support with shorter deployments. I worked in Emergency settings for some years mainly in Africa (Somalia, Sudan, Liberia, Rwanda) but also in Asia. Afghanistan, Pakistan & Bosnia. While with Oxfam I completed a masters in nutrition. I joined Concern Worldwide in 2000 as the nutrition advisor based in Dublin but with frequent travel. Work included assessments, project design, setting up interventions, conducting survey and technical support. Since 2003 I have worked as an independent consultant with NGO’s UN agencies and donors. Work has varied from evaluations to developing guidelines and research. I have links with UCD & Trinity. I am available for lectures at their masters programme in humanitarisation and global health.
