World Conference on Humanitarian Studies

Changing Crises and the Quest for Adequate Solutions. The 4th bi-annual IHSA conference took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 5 to 8 March 2016.

The International Humanitarian Studies Association (IHSA) is a network engaged with the study of humanitarian crises caused by natural disaster, conflict or political instability. Every two years, IHSA organises the World Humanitarian Studies Conference. More information can be found under IHSA conferences. Dr Pat Gibbons and Dr Ronan McDermott of the UCD Centre for Humanitarian Action attended the event and as panel organisers, and presented at a roundtable on Urban Preparedness and Resilience .
